Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where you served for years in Vietnam. He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years. He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country". The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.

VFW Day of Service started out as a way to showcase the great community service work of VFW members — but now it’s a nationwide movement.
Today, Day of Service is a requirement to obtain and preserve All-American status for your Post.
Because your location is already a proud VFW All-American Post, we’re sending a special reminder to sign up for this year’s VFW Day of Service in May 2025.

All American-Posts are leaders — we need you to help keep up the momentum for this year’s Day of Service sign-ups and participation. We have some great events rolling in from across the country, but we have to keep the pedal to the metal till May!
Signing up is easy and we have plenty of great ideas and free resources to help you execute a meaningful community service event in your city or town.
